How do I remove dual boot?
Hi Ive set up my VISTA pc to run dual boot with xp on the d:\. I dont need it now so how do i remove it?

Not sure if it's the same on VISTA like it is on Windows XP. But all you need to do is:
Right click 'My Computer' Then left click on 'properties' then choose the 'Advanced' Tab. Click 'Settings' button next to Startup and recovery, and 'edit' which will allow you to edit the boot.ini file from where the 2 start-ups reside. I would personnally tread carefully at this stage as removing the wrong entry will stop your VISTA from booting and vice versa. Probably a search on Google for better instructions may be your best bet. Once you feel brave, and you know that only one copy of windows starts up first time everytime, then look at manually removing the copy of windows you don't want. |
Vista takes over the booting duties once that goes on
VistaBootPRO - Go PRO with Microsoft Windows Vista Boot Manager this should do the trick, then you can wipe the d drive once you are sure everything has been taken off:) |
