Misfire / splutter when accelerating hard
 

i have a 1995 wrx impreza import.
when accelerating hard the car splutters and sounds like its misfiring
this is around 3000 - 4500 rpm but then clears and runs fine
this happens in every gear,.
any ideas on what could be causing the problem

get your coilpacks out and have a look for cracks in the rubber surrounds..if you find any then thats the prob.As a temp measure you can wrap some insulating tape around the cracked ones till you can sorce some new ones.Its a common fault on the early classic's..
