Nearly time for new tyres and would like some advice.

I have 8"x18" PFF7's fitted to my Hawkeye currently with 225/40 tyres.
They don't give a lot of protection for the rims (I know drive more carefully and watch the kerbs :rolleyes: ). So thinking of going for wider tyres.
Would like to go 245/35 as this keeps the overall size roughly the same (8mm less) but will the extra width rub on the arches???
