lack of low end torque

The misses is running around in a Golf MKIII GTI 16v...... Now as most people are aware it suffers from a lack of low end torque. Is there any cheapish way of upping it slightly or simply making it a little more responsive in the low end?

Thanks
Ian

I'm no expert and it is the MK3 but from what i've read on the 't'internet that a lot of MK2 16v owners put on a manifold from TSR - this makes a huge difference apparently, not sure about the 2.0 litre MK3 though.

Give 'em a call - no harm in doing

Make sure its running right first, get it rolling road, will be getting on a bit now.

usually a 4-2-1 helps with low-range torque and a 4-1 moves the torque up the revs
