clean back end...HELP...

ok, so i have removed the SUBARU lettering off my boot on my classic, only problem i have is that is has left an outline of the letters ..

whats the best thing to remove it ..

have already tried autoglym tar remover, meths and even tried petrol but nothing is moving it ..

thanks phil

Do the letters look darker than the rest of the paint ? If so it could be that the rest of the paint has faded, but not the paint that was under the letters, so without a respray you're going to see it.

If it is residue from the original adhesive then either using a hairdryer to soften it, or soaking in white spirit may work.

Heat it up with a haidryer. white spirit on a soft cloth and some elbow grease. Claybar and then polish. Worthwhile change in appearance to rear end. All IMHO of course

problem with hair dryer is that i have already had new rally graphics fitted ..
but will try with white spirits on its own

mate, posted something similar myself in the bikers section after removing the decals from my bike and it leaving residue, meths will remove but it will take ages, I've spent about 2 hours so far just removing about 1x12inch section of residue! Persevere with it, it will come off in the end.
