Yokohama Parada Spec 2
Does anyone run these tyres on their scoob? How do you rate them in the wet? Read something saying they perhaps weren't so good in the wet. :wonder:
|
i run these and have for a little while now had no problems with them in the WET and DRY awesome tire if you ask me
|
Hi mate i'm running these on my classic 215/40/17 and must say that when i first got them they were very scary in the wet:cry:
But i have put about 1500 miles on them and they now seem a lot better. I would go as far as saying they are as good as the P Zero nero's i had before. Its all worth it though as the grip they give in the dry is hard to explain was out on Sunday and found myself going round bends at some rather insane speeds well worth it in my opinion:thumb: |
There's plenty of posts in the wheels / tyres section ;) ;)

These can be sourced for about £60 a corner in 215/40/17 ............Good value for money i reckon...

Yes, shop about, don't let yourself get ripped off because of the brand. It is a budget tyre, but performs well for a £60 tyre. Dry grip is like a limpet, wet grip is OK (which is a rare characteristic of most Yokohamas - where most are pants in the wet) with a progessive break away (i.e plenty of warning that your close to the limits) - Michelin Pilots will grip better in the wet...but they are FAR more expensive...You pays your money. |
best tyre ive ever had in the dry, ive all ways had toyo. theses are much better ,you have to let them bed in a bit but then they are very good in the wet.the only bad point is you get a bit of traction loss on a damp road . .. strange..
i paid £255 for x4 215/40/17. hope this helps.:luxhello: |
Cheers for the replies guys, was looking at a new set of wheels and they had these tyres on offer as a combo.
|
i got em on my classic and they are fine in the wet , even though i get people in the street stopping me goin , they must be **** in the wet lol or is that tread road legal lol:)
excellent tyre if u ask me fella |
had them on for about 6 months no problem as yet.well happy with them:thumb:
|
Ive got them on my 290bhp classic, find them spot on.
|
But tay yours is over 300 :nono:, what rims you getting? Geth loves those tyres always runs them on his cupra R and to be fair they must be good to keep that f*c*i*g muppet on the road:lol1:.
|
Ive had mine on for a week on my 18's
I think they great not pushed them too far yet cos of the old read scoobynet and get paranoid about everything :lol1: so im waiting til they scrubbed in nicely not bad in the wet either |
I really like mine and of course SIDC supply them at discounted rates for members ;)
|
I dont get too much traction with mine in the wet. Can also be a problem on cold roads, also tend to break traction in 2nd.
In the dry they are very good IMO Mike |
Got near 380bhp in my classic and havnt had any problems with them :)
Just got to let them warm up in the damp before pushing it to much |
possibly worst "performance" tyres ever.
|
Thats because its a budget tyre :D
What do you expect for £60 odd? ;) |

I had alot of scary moments with my Toyo T1R's that i had on before
|
Just lit up all four of mine coming into work cause its slippy....awesome :D
Deffo dry weather tyre, out performs my old Pirellis imho. |
i had them on mine /down the lanes in the wet she was a bit of a handfull but otherwise very good and as for saying they are a budget tyre:eek2: mine certainly werent £60 each
|
they are dam good for the money IMO but i have used better tyres in the wet (ie ones that cost twice as much)
they are a budget tyre, £60 a corner is nankang money!!??!! i got some "marshall" tyres free with my new wheels and they are not far off the paradas pace IMHO, not idea how much they cost, will probably go back to paradas wheni wear them out :D |

what would you say is the best all round tyre i was thinking toyo t1r?
What has happened to everyone, the Impreza is a performance car, put a decent set of tyres on. Andy |
goodyear f1's for me too, love them. awesome in wet and dry conditions
|
Had mine for a while now and since the addition of Launch Control they tend to let go a bit too easy, still better that than the gearbox!
They are scary in the wet imo....... |

Are you lot ****ing mad ? Yoko Paradas are most certainly not a budget tyre. Just because they can be had for budget prices does not mean they are budget built.
I use A048s in the summer and Parada spec 2s for the other 10 months of the year. Paradas are outstanding tyres in the dry, offer fantastic grip in the wet (when let's face it, we should all be driving sensibly anyway) and the only strange thing about them is that they tend to wriggle a bit on damp surfaces) No, I am not on Yokohama's payroll either :D Oh yes, if you lose traction in the wet with ANY tyre, you are driving too fast for the prevailing conditions and deserve a kick up the arse  |
