Riddle #2
A painting job can be completed by 4 painters in 23 days.
If 8 more painters join the team 5 days after starting work on the job, how many more days are required to complete the job? |
3 weeks as they are all sacking the dirty undies drawer and taking turns to sniff n' whack.
6 more days
Are they given any more brushes?
How many have fooked off to the pub?
8 more days.
Knowing a few painters and seeing how early they get into the pub, you want to know how long its gonna take to paint your living room? :D |

Is there a weekend in the five days ?
notning will get done if "the painters are in"..just some random woman looking pissed off
4 painters * 23 days = 92 man-days of work in total.
First 5 days * 4 painters = 20 man-days' work done, leaving 72 still to be done. 8 more join in giving a total of twelve for the remaining time. 72 / 12 = 6. Therefore, 6 more days are needed after the new guys start work. (apologies to any project managers, tradespeople, engineers or anyone else with a modicum of experience who knows perfectly well there's no such thing as a man-day of work!) |
:lol1: Not sure where I got 8 from.
It will probably be a 39 hour week in which case it will be 6 days 2 hours and maybe 10 mins for a cup of well deserved cup of tea
