That's sad news :(

Mind, he did have the signs of a dodgy heart (obvious fluid retention). Mixed feelings about the guy, probably a great guy as a freind/customer. But a pain on the arse if your an employee or a supplier. Certainly will be missed either way. |
Nothing on the news about that hectic:Suspiciou

Surgery a month ago...
Hot Rod Legend Boyd Coddington Hospitalized Coddington recovering from emergency surgery. Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) January 27, 2008 -- Boyd Coddington was unable to attend the North American International Auto Show in Detroit to enjoy the sneak peak of his latest creation or any of the collector car auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona. The legendary hot rod designer and fabricator who just completed a million-dollar, hand-built Delehaye inspired hot rod fell ill shortly after the holidays. According to his wife Jo Coddington, Boyd was rushed to the hospital after a fall at his home. Boyd Coddington, the multi-award winning designer, fabricator and alumni of the Hot Rod Hall of Fame, was admitted for observation and then released. Several days later, Boyd complained of continued complications and was re-admitted to a hospital near his Southern California home. There doctors made a diagnosis and he was rushed to surgrey. |
Theres a post on the end of the jalopyjournal thread from Todd Eamonn.. who worked in the garage.. seems pretty legit,, so I can only take it my info is correct .

:( Sad News :(
I loved American Hot Rod |
A sad loss indeed :(
Only really got to know about him through the American Hot Rod series, used to like the way he'd do the mother of all burn outs before he stripped every car. Great character and a great loss to the Hod Rod scene. Thoughts go out to all the family. |
not good, all the best to his family

California car-building legend Boyd Coddington dies at 63

Very sad, thoughts go out to his family.:(
However those shirts were awful. |
Gutted :(
He had such a passion for hot rods that always made me sit up and watch  |
Those shirts are alarmingly expensive too!
Probably will be buried in one. Im sure hot rods and fabrication will feature in his arrangements. |

RIP chop |
This is sad news, Boyd lead the way with many innovative ideas, will be sadly missed.

Some good wallpapers here of Boyd's work.

I am really sorry to hear that. Had a lot of admiration for his achievements and enjoyed the programmes too. Very young age to go.
