Paypal dispute - any chance I'll win this one?

OK, I sold 2 items via paypal but not via ebay in one transaction.

It was a radio control car described as good but used condition and a brand new unused engine to go with it. They paid £265

£130 for the car £130 for the engine and £15 postage.

The chap I sold the above to has now opened a dispute saying the car is not as described and is "beyond economical repair". This is rubbish. I've had cars in far worse condition that the one I sold and they were fine.

The car was used but perfectly useable. The dispute message mentions rounding off heads of screws but blaming me for putting them in too hard. He claims I should have included a clutch when there was no mention of a clutch. etc etc

He has also accused me of selling a used engine when it clearly is brand spanking new.

Anyway, as this wasn't an Ebay item I want to fight it.

The second he elevates the dispute to a claim paypal will close it.

They're never interested in arguments over condition, and provided you can prove it was delivered you should be ok.

I bought some bullet cameras and a digital video recorder, sold as brand new in box but very obviously second hand- they had gravel rash ffs. Paypal went through the motions but within seconds of me escalating it to a claim I got an email telling me the case was closed as they are not in a position to comment or make judgement on condition.

HTH
Simon.
