have i perminantly damaged my eye?
ok well 4 days ago i was removing a rear bumper on a golf, some fiddly clips that need leavering out it popped out and hit me right in the eye at force, dont know weather my eye was open or not, naturally painfull and watery as hell. very uncomfterble that evening due to scratched i spose,covered eye went to bed next day pain had gone result, but
my eyesight is terrible, even now im typing this on my laptop i cannot read it, seing that it was my dominant eye i damaged, my left eye allways was weaker but my right perfect, and now im screwed lol for some reason its worse in morning and slightly better as the day goes on??? yes i know should of gone to eys hospital but im awful for it, as predicted next day feel fine, but its just my sight thats getting no better, ok yes if it carries on ill have to pop into the docs and find out just what damage i have done. it does seem when involves bright light its worse what are my chances ? |
totally mad IMO not to have gone to an eye hospital, ffs your eyes are so important, if you are concerned go today!

I think you need to go and have it looked at. It could just be scratched and needs time to heal, but it's best to be on the safe side.

I wouldnt be too worried, last friday I took a bad fall and slapped my face on the floor damaging half of my face lol. My eye was buggered all week but can just about see normally without any fuzzyness now. Although in all honesty I think I might have done some damage to my eye socket but it'll heal fine on its own, dont need a doctor to tell me its damaged and do nothing to help it heal.

Get it checked out mate. I once knew a lad that got a paper cut on his eye, He got sum drops for it and it healed ok in the end. Yes i did say paper cut and yes it was caused by a sheet of paper, idiot.

how about going and seeing a doctor instead of asking a car BBS. who a do not have a great deal of medical training (in most cases) and b cannot look at your eye to asses.:)

You may simply require drops that will prevent you from getting an infection. Believe me, if I told you about some afflictions that otherwise healthy eyes can suffer from (e.g. people who wear contact lenses without being strict enough about their cleaning etc) then you'd not hesitate! I put a screwdriver into my eye when trying to prise something and it slipped, went to the hospital after a few days to get it checked. Nurse gave me an utter bollocking as there could have been dirt there to cause an infection.

Attract the girls. Also eyes work in pairs (no kidding) so it is possible due to injury to one to lose sight in both eyes |

Either way, hope your ok :) Mone got scratched 18 months ago, and still hurts, depite a (very uncomfortable) operation, and lots of eye cream. Get it checked, stop being a wimp |

I ended up with a really nasty corneal ulcer, I was removing an air brick and it came out complete with a pretty manky birds nest, dust, sh1t, feathers etc, it went in my eyes, I had lenses in, I washed my face and got back to work but noticed some grittiness, I just put up with it and rubbed it, took the lenses out when I had finished and noticed some crud on them, had a shower, went to bed and woke up with horrendous pain from my eye, tried to put up with it, took painkillers but it got worse. Went to the eye hospital and got told I had developed the ulcer, was given drops and a patch, had to sit in a darkened room as it was agonising to go into light, no telly, no reading. It didnt affect my sight but it could have done if I had left it longer, which I couldnt as it was very very painful. Opticians always ask about it when they scan my eye as there is quite noticeable (to the optician) scar tissue. So dont mess about, get it seen to. |
