Interior Steam Cleaners

Probably because of the frame less windows I have noticed water marks on the lower seat bolsters. Would a steam cleaner (with the cloth attached to the nozzle) be safe to use. I would NOT use it on the Alcantara/Suede for obvious reasons. Anybody tried this?

Afraid not, so can't really advise. I don't like the idea of using steam in small confined interior spaces, hence why we tend to wet n dry vac instead... but I can see the potential benefit in cases like this. Water stains can be a pest to remove... and in some cases they simply don't come out, more than likely due to reactions with chemicals left over from the manufacturing process. I know Clark struggles with this in his Leon too...

i paid around 300 for a steamer a few years back and it was used approx 3 times, complete waste of time to be honest, far better results from a spray extraction machine, and it was much faster.

i threw it out into the skip last week as i couldnt sell it!!

Not sure if its the same sort of marks on my seats as you have COLZO, but I just used a Upholstery cleaner from my work place. HG Hagesan specialize in cleaning products for the house/garden etc, we have a new range of car care products in, this upholstery cleaner worked very well, made all the black sides blacker and fresher looking, also the white faded patches have now gone.

Have you tried a upholstery cleaner of some sort?.
If you PM me your post code I'll have a look for your nearest HG dealer that stocks the car range if you like?.

Exactly what I need. As its normally only me in the car myself the bottom left seat bolster seems to be the worst as when you open the door in the rain the water just drops in! Also have you ever noticed the white stuff(almost like talcum powder???) that seems to seep through the seats? Had it the same thing happen on my 03 STI and my mates 04 STI was the same.

Sent you a PM mate.

Is it one of the products shown on this link?

Yep thats the one "HG Upholstery Cleaner". As I said it did get rid of the white marks on the side of the seats, but not sure if they were water marks?, they may have been as its not the first time I've heard of this problem on Subarus.
