Another Lotto Winner Skint ...

Just goes to show that a fool & his money are easily parted.

Skint Lotto Winner John McGuinness Wants Council House - The Daily Record

LG John 11 February 2008 10:34 AM

What a ****!

Boro 11 February 2008 10:38 AM

He handed over £4million to family members and made generous donations to charity.
Thats almost HALF of what he won!

CrisPDuk 11 February 2008 11:07 AM

What a complete cock:rolleyes:

I notice none of the family members he spunked the £4m+ on appear to be steppping forward to help him out, that's Jocks for you:rolleyes::lol1:

Is there a possibility that sti-04 is a McGuinness:Suspiciou

He definitely rose to that one rather sharpish:lol1:

Leslie 11 February 2008 11:21 AM

Difficult to believe anyone can just blow everything with a win like that without realising that the bank balance was disappearing. Don't see why he should get any special help over the heads of those less fortunate than him.

He's an idiot, it's possible to make a modest (albeit very modest) living on the interest of £1.5M alone!

I'd say it was perfectly possible to have good lifestyle on the interest from that kind of cash.

I realise that if you spend all the interest the value of money slowly errods over time, so it all depends on how old you are, but even still.

Scoobychick 11 February 2008 12:25 PM

What a complete chump :brickwall

I wonder if he has any regrets? :wonder: ;) :D

A fool and his money are soon parted

Tidgy 11 February 2008 01:07 PM

if he had sence, instant 8 mill in the bank, thats a cool 18k a week to live on if the figure i was told is correct, then nice decent size house, couple of nice cars, and then live of the interest even giving some to charity, agree a fool and his money are soon parted

Tiggs 11 February 2008 01:35 PM

You'd be broke quicker than he was, unless you used some of the money for a maths tutor.

Tidgy 11 February 2008 01:50 PM

pmsl, i havn't worked it out myself, it what i was told, hang on shall do the math now ;)

sti-04!! 11 February 2008 01:52 PM

Basic 6% at 8 mil would be just over 9k a week. You would obviously be looking to get a better investment rate but i assume 6% would be low risk.

Tidgy 11 February 2008 01:54 PM

right done the math, could have done that in that post but hey there you go

basicly 8mill divide by 100 = 80k, times by 12 for interest at 12% (offsure tax free acounts, my uncle works for barclays in the oveseas acounts deparments and that comes from him ;) ) = 960k divide by 52 weeks = £18,461.54 per week

eClaire 11 February 2008 01:55 PM

But his biggest investment was in Livingston Football Club.
No wonder he is skint if he is throwing it away like that!

No need to swear stephen.

John, who married Sandra in 2003, spent millions to guarantee the club's loans - and millions more in legal wrangles when the club went into receivership.
I know enough!!!

You have blantantly misunderstood by what I meant in not investing the money in Hibs, gumbo! WHY on earth would I encourage anyone to put any money into Hibs when I support Hearts? You tims know nothing!
