Weight of gearbox! Please
 
Am changing my clucth this weekend on my 5speed bugeye only have axel stands and trolley jacks was just wondering if anybody knows the weight of the gearbox is it a one man lift???

5 or 6 speed? 6 speed definatly a two man lift

It's heavy, I changed a 5speed with a mate helping me, but I had the use of a transmission jack, made be draper, good tip is to get the car as high as possible, the jack makes putting it back in much easier, you don't want it to slip off a trolley jack.
It’s a crap job but if you take your time it's not hard, the dowels that locate the box can be a pain, and don’t forget to take the clutch thrust bearing pivot shaft out, or you will never separate the box from the engine.

Id say about 45 Kg`s
Ive recently had 1 delivered for mine and its surprising how lite they are.

5 speed with small pallet is just under 50kg so 72s 45 kg is pretty close.
