19s on a Hawkeye STi......

I have seen a few Imprezas running 19" wheels and I was just wondering how much they affect things?

Is the ride severe?

Is the handling completely ruined by 19s?

What is the overall performance change?

I have read many a time that Prodrive recommend fitting 18s to a Hawkeye Sti, even more so with the addition of the PPP/remap, does an extra inch to a 19" make a huge difference?

Any replies appreciated.

Personally I wouldn't go for 19" unless its a show car, Scooby's are for driving 19's would spoil the driving experience.

I've got 19"s on mine (02) and they are less supple over mid-corner bumps.... but I feel a little compromise is o.k. Keep std wheels for B-roads, but only to avoid damage ! Fitted with R888's the grip levels are astounding !

18" tyres are cheaper tho' !
