Dave, where did you ever get that idea ? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Didn't even know that Sunil was an accountant as well ... mhhmm, people are projecting their thoughts upon my words http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

SDB: Wilderbeast? Um, yeah, OK. You must be talking about those days when dad had to spend hours in the attic, trying to point the antenna away from the passing clouds http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Theo

PS somehow I get the impression that this thread has a sort of muppety feel to it. Wonder why http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

sunilp 30 December 2000 04:57 PM

Dave, Happy New Year you old fart, how many years have you seen anyhow??? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

Theo, you knew very well you Eurotrash plonker. The character SDB is referring to is a Lenny Henry creation, dont you lot get the UK programmes from circa 1985 now as latest viewing as Euro tv is either crap or just pornographic??

Sunil http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Hello,

I dont want to be a kill joy but is that 3.9 million Hits or 3.9 million user sessions?

Because a HIT is a request to the server, a hit is generated for each distinct item on a page such as graphic, button etc, thefore the number of hits depends uppon the number of items on a page and is a totally meaningless statistic for net page usage.

The key thing you look for to asses a web site populartity is unique user sessions, user session and concurrent user sessions. However some people use the term hits to describe a user session (which is wrong).

Remember this if any of you buy or sell advertising space on the web...

(Yes this annorak is very warm!!!)

Bye.

EvilBevel 30 December 2000 10:07 PM

Ouch, Sunil, that actually hurts, as my all time favorite TV shows are (in no particular order) AbFab, Have I got news for you, A bit of Fry and Laurie, Blackadder, Not the 9'o clock news (who remembers the videos "Do you really want to squirt me ...") and ... well, you get my drift.

Lenny Henry. Should have recognized that.

Even being a full time Eurotrash, I do have to admit that UK TV sometimes, err, ain't all that bad. Fortunately, suddenly you see hours and hours of snooker or darts (some drunk dude shouting ONEHUNDREDANDFORTY all the time !? Size of belly in inches ?), and you wake up and realize the EU isn't all that bad http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

GranT, you are right of course, technically speaking (a lot of hits are when Sunil wants to re-read his own replies - sad or whot http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif ), but still: a lot of hits, and maybe 2000 active lurkers. Not many websites/bbs's will be able to beat that number.
