So another dilemma.... I am thinking very seriously about selling my WRX... but at the moment I am totally confused about what the best asking price would be.

The car is MY99 will be two on 1st Jan with only 13.5k miles on the clock and one 'nearly' careful lady owner... with the Yen bad at the moment I understand that few imports are coming in... also Subaru seem to be holding their price... but I recently advertised it and got no takers... also touted both Scoob and MX 5 (18mths also import) round to dealers and got no interest at all... except was offered 10k for Scoob and 7k for MX5 ... needless to say I told them what they could do with that...

I have no idea what a fair private price or trade price would be at the moment... or would it be better just to hang on and wait..

I would advertise at 19k but have been told that is too high...

Any advice and input would be gratefully received

Hi I have a mate who just sold his 98 spec WRX with 99/00 bumber and bits for £14,000, STI V5's are up for grabs at £19 K so I think my mate did well.

I do agree that £10,000 is too low, if you're shown £14,000 i would hit the bid.

Ms Cat,

there was an Sti V in Autocar last week with £1500 worth of AP brakes, 33k miles, same age as yours for £15k.

So £14-15k to the right owner is about right.

Check out the autotrader website you will see the range of prices being asked. Dealers will be looking for more!!!

PS Did you have a nice Christmas?
