There is an Alpine unit that is supposed to be really good if you connect your ipod to it as it is solely desgined for the ipod. The only problem with it is that you don't get a cd player in it just a radio. I am gonna try and get one in the states later this year as it should be cheaper.

You mean this one? The Alpine IDA-X001 (IDA-X001 - Alpine - Europe - Mobile Media Solutions) :

I have it fitted in my car (came with the car :norty: ), excellent piece of kit and looks quality too. I have even customised the wallpaper on mine (the car on there is actually mine):

I havent used it with an iPod 'cause I dont have one but I just plug a memory stick into it with all my favourite tracks on and it plays them :thumb: CD's? Thing of the past aint they ;)

Depends on how much knowledge you have about creating graphics :lol1: . Even to someone with just a slight bit of knowledge though its a very quick job, of course it depends on how complex etc. you want the image.
Instuctions of how to convert to the correct format are here: IDA-X001 APN Converter | Xoned You need to register to download the converter but its free so not a problem.

today, i bought the offical ipod converter from JVC , when i pluged it in my IPHONE said its not compatibale, although i managed to get it to work once, then the IPHONE wouldnt reconise it and it just charges the phones battery,

when its connected up and on the cd changer, it says checking file and nothing happens,

any ideas?:thumb:

scooby_mark 18 January 2008 09:58 AM

it's because the phone has many files on it and does uses a dedicated file path for the headunit to pick up the files, you need to contact apple to see what if they doing a connector lead, also try connect2.co.uk
