Body shop

Hi does anyone know of a decent bodyshop in swansea area..??

As some K£$£head swiped the front of my car in tesco as I was edging out of a parking space today , the damage is minor but Im going to need a new front bumper.
My insurance company recommended TWK Thomas...???
Any one used this body shop before..??

How much do you love your car ? If you have any respect for your car then you'll avoid TWK like the plague.

would you leave your kids with the MC'CANS

dont leave your car with TWK either

Thing is I've spoken to the guy from TWK earler, should I go back to the insurance and see if I have to use them or get some quotes together.
I fear this is a schoolboy error on my behalf as I've never made a claim on my insurance......EVER!!
Thanks for the info :thumb:

Should I insist on a subaru approved body shop..??

It's up to you where your car goes, the insurance company just advise you of companies they deal with.

Contact the insurance and tell them your not happy with the feedback you've had about TWK and that you would like your car to go to another garage

They will ask you to get quote's from other garage and explain the process of getting the car sorted

I'd have to disagree with you about Ian's, as will a few people from this site.

Ian himself is a great sprayer but unfortunately he doesnt do the work these days and the last few Scoob's that have been there have come out with some poor results.

My gf's car was sprayed at Ian's and the paint was blistering within a week. When we took the car elsewhere, they were shocked by the quality of work.

lightwave693 13 January 2008 07:31 PM

Really, i honestly did not know that, i work next door to him in C&H fabricators and am in a there a fair bit getting stuff done, never a full spray job though. ian sprays the parts i give him personally in his own time so thats maybe why mine have all been good.

did your Gf complain?

scoobyp1 13 January 2008 07:40 PM

Yeah she complained, they gave her a bit of cheek and upset her so i had to pop down there.

She wouldnt let them touch the car after that and thats why it went elsewhere.

If i thought Ian was gonna do all the work and was gonna put his heart into it then i wouldnt hesitate to take the car to him. I done all the Telegraph poles and cabling work on the estate and i remember seeing the Escort Cosworth Monte Carlo they done and i was really impressed.

clone67 13 January 2008 07:57 PM

Is ian's the only body shop down there because I had my MK2 GTI done a couple of years ago down in pontarduilais turned out great but ian didnt do it was done but a guy I went to school with that works down there but I cant remember if he said he works there,...So this is going to be a real hard one as I dont want to pay out twice fro the same job.
If you get any other ideas please dont heasitate to pm me.

I agree with scoobyp1. I've had work done on my scooby with him and I wouldn't go back. If Ian was doing it himself then yes but he doesn't have the time and the monkey are doing the work now
