forge dump valve

just a quick question. been reading a few posts on blanking off dump valves to get the fluttery sound. what i want to know could i just put on the strongest spring for this valve and hope it won't open ? what effect will it have putting on the strongest spring?

You get the flutter at low revs/boost as it cant overcome the spring,so the air gets forced back onto the turbo blades..... red is the strongest spring and its how mine is set up........

By blanking of the dump valve dose this damage the turbo?:wonder:

Depends on the turbo fitted....... TD05 seems to be able to handle it ok,vf series have weaker blades by all accounts, so not reccomended to try it as broken bits of compressor wheel flying into the engine might not go down to well.......

its a good way of knackering your turbo. there is a reason that there is millions spent on engineering of dump and recirculating valves.

so wrong........
