Well, he's definitely got some shares in the place!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
As most of you will undoubtedly know, I had resigned myself to the fact that I was going to be Scoobyless for several months whilst my engine was rebuilt using 'decent' components.
Last week, I decided that I simply couldn't face being without CK1 for that long, so I decided to look at other options, one of which was to source a second-hand engine from somewhere which would at least enable me to get CK1 back on the road.
After a day or two of searching without any success, a little e-mail appeared suggesting a possible source of a cheap engine (thanx Nigel! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif ).
Three days later, the new engine and CK1 were shipped off to Scoobysport, who had very kindly offered to fit the new engine at very short notice. I went to pick it up last night, only to find that they had faced a few problems with my car and were running behind. The car wouldn't be ready until the next morning, meaning another 200mile round trip the following day!! I was devastated. I felt like a kid on Xmas morning who had been given the best toy ever, only to find there were no batteries! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif .
"Worry not, Stef" said Steve, Scoobysport's recent aquisition. I'll stay behind until the car's ready. And he did.....until 8.30pm. As did Pete and Craig. They are absolute heroes, and it is rare to see such dedication these days. It is the first time my car has had any major work done at Scoobysport, but it certainly won't be the last.
Thanks guys, and Merry Xmas! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
CK1 is running like a dream, and I'm one happy bunny! See you all at Donno! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Cheers

PS Did you get my cheque?

Good to hear you're back on the road, Stef. An event at Donno wouldn't be the same without CK1. C U there (and I'll settle up with you then)

Stef,

Nice one mate! Nice one Scoobysport too! Lets hope that the sump is properly baffled and that there is an extra feed to #3! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

All the best, and see you at Donnington.

Love stories of people putting in extra time - absolute class! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
That why I like my local tuners - They have worked once till 11.30pm, once till 10.30pm and the last time was 9.30pm. Always followed by a long drive through the night to england for some event.

So does this mean I get a passenger ride at donno stef? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Stef, good news. I was at Scoobysport on Tuesday. I guess one of the several motors they had out was yours.

They're a cool outfit, aren't they. Just quietly confident and deadly efficient.

I went in for a down-pipe but got the old "why don't you just try this and see if you like it?" routine. Of course, I've ended up with the full exhaust and airfilter - and double the bill. Happy to pay it, though - sounds like a monster and goes like one, too!

Nice one Stef.
ScoobySport also stayed very late one night fitting new brakes for me even though the problem was not their fault. Top guys ! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I will be at Donno but will be taking it very easy for obvious reasons. The new engine hasn't had any safety mods done to it as yet.
Rides are always available, but they won't be of the usual type! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
