Hi all,
Just looking about for insurance quotes on a Sti Type R, and one got any ideas? I'm 21, 3year ncb what ya recon? is it gonna happen? I had a quote on a P1 that was £3300 |
I am trying to find a STI Type R too. I got a quote off direct lines website - www.directline.co.uk - I am 23, 3 years NCD, 3 points, based on a 1998 Type R, it came out to just under £1600.
Before directline the cheapest quote I had was from tesco, it was £2300!!! I thought directline seemed a bit cheep so I phoned them to double check the price & to make sure there wasn't going to be a lump put on top of the price when I come to buying it, they told me there would be no extra & the price was correct. They do require a tracker though! |
cheers that was a great help, they quoted £2300
|
Try www.Tesco.co.uk they may help, will need tracker tho....
|
If you can afford it I believe Tesco/Direct line both offer decent discounts if you persuade them to up the xs to about £1000. Not saying I recommend this, but if you are prepared to take the risk you can probably get a decent discount...

Aeon Flux or Adrian Flux will give a good quote.
I was quoted £600 fully comp on a type R. |
V. Impressed - Just got a quote off www.directline.co.uk for a 97 STI Type R (has to have Tracker) £910 FC. prot. NCB.
Cheapest so far! Oh, Im 36, Full NCB, no pts / claims car to be kept on drive. :-) |
When I called Adrian Flux they wouldn't insure any one under 25 on jap imports, I am 23 :(
