What's the difference between HD players and HDMI players?
Just got a HD TV, now i need a player to play the HD DVD's, now as i'm looking around for some, i notice there are HDMI players for up to £100, and HD players for £150+...
According to Yahoo, HD players and HDMI players are exactly the same thing. So am i right in thinking if i buy THIS HDMI player it'll play HD DVD's just the same as a HD player would? Any help is appreciated! |
There's no such thing as an HDMI player. HDMI is the type of connection between a high definition source like an HD-DVD or Bluray player, and a high def TV.
The player you linked to is just a DVD player, it can't play high definition discs. |
Ahh i see, i'm new to this HD technology so i have little knowledge on the subject. So i assume i'm gonna be needing something like this?
Do you know of any cheaper HD DVD Players by any chance? Thanks for your help and quick response! |
You only just caught me - I'm on duty until 12 ;)
Something like that player is what you need. Although that particular model is already out of date is some respects, it's a young technology. I haven't bought a player yet for that reason, as well as the fact that HD DVDs are a rip off to buy! |
Thanks for saving me from wasting my money on that ordinary DVD player!
Ahh i see, i'll shop around a bit more and see what i can find. Thanks again for all your help :) |
