Built in card readers

I've got a built in card reader on the front of my PC. It has no trouble reading cards which are 1gb or less, but anything over that and it won't seem to work. Is there any way of curing this or is it a case of getting a USB type card reader? The main card slot I use is the SD one.

I have no problems with any card I stick in my X-Pro reader that I added to my PC which sits where a floppy drive would go, it does plug into a USB header socket on the motherboard.

I don't know what make of reader I have, it was in there when I bought the PC.

Have you tried looking on the manufacturers website who made the PC? You never know there maybe a fix for it on there.

The computer was made by Tiny, who have since dissappeared. Is there any way of finding out what it is and how it works by going into 'my computer'?
