Secunia PSI - good stuff for advising about insecure software

Seems to be incredibly useful if its accurate. Did I also mention its free for personal use.

It was surprising to find out just how many applications were slightly out of date. I don't think its perfect though, as it said NOD32 2.7 was insecure. I think in reality it means it was out of date, but still its better than nothing.

Vulnerability and Virus Information - Secunia

Its the free application PSI RC1 that is of most interest. Seriously cool if it does what it says on the tin.

I've tried this on a couple of machines now. Seems to be pretty damn good.

Every single thing it has found so far really did have an update available. Its still early days, but its the best I have found at what it does so far :)
