only got it for a month or so while the scoobs gonna be away in new year.

so il handle the ridicule until then...

stop picking on me and find another target you mean mean man:D

but seriously, i needed something to get me to work and save a few quid. although sarcasm is your forte, i assume you understand this.:thumb:

Silver Scooby Sport 15 December 2007 04:48 PM

Nothing wrong with that I run a slightly larger version Fiat through the week myself... I was looking for one of those originally but failed to find one :lol1: Give it a couple of weeks and it will pay for itself in fuel savings alone then it will be a freebie :D supermarket carparks here we go !!

If you were a bit closer I could be interested in it when you were finished with it :)

I understand it more than you realise, I'm running two STi's... the last service just cost me 1500 of my hard earned (for one of them) :(, so I'm thinking of getting a run around as well... some cheap diesel thingy.... ;)

So yes, I really do understand why :thumb:

when mine blew up i bought a "super mudburner" for £350 with 2 months tax

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...06-05_2056.jpg

drove it around for 2 months till the scooby was rebuilt

gave it a valet and flogged it with no tax for £300

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...07-05_0950.jpg

jobs a goodun :D

chocolate_o_brian 15 December 2007 04:54 PM

aye, as it needed a new battery (£55 from halfords - i know i know, was desperate ok!!), and a new o/s rear light cluster (£5 from a scrappie:norty: ), oh and a simple indicator bulb....

the dude knocked £250 off the asking price.

admittedly my uncle who works in the car trade did the haggling, and we were walking out this guys house at one point, until he gave in:lol1:

but man +3 demanding kids = xmas bargain for chocolate_o_brian.:norty: :norty:

honestly, its a lovely thing to drive. long throw on the gear change and a spongy clutch, but it has character.... sod it, hes called "oliver" now:lol:

pauld37 15 December 2007 05:38 PM

Some nice looking pink trim on it too :thumb:

Remember second class riding is much better than first class walking.

Nice motor, seems to me that a few weeks / months in that will make you appreciate the Scoob all the more and we can do our usual substandard repair and get away with it.............

Good Luck Andy, David

david... il be in touch my dear fellow. much appreciate the calming chat we had earlier, even though my credit card will fall to pieces:freak3:

exvaux 15 December 2007 06:21 PM

david you could put his scooby box back together with paper mache and it would still feel better built and better to drive than the cinque lol but cob i feel your pain as ive got a k reg astra 1.4 8v just now and my bank account is about to go up the s*****r as well with the engine build

Norman Dog 15 December 2007 06:47 PM

BOB.T 15 December 2007 09:28 PM

An old neighbout had one and would always park it in the middle of a gap big enough to get two cars in! Being in the trade I knew how crap the handbrakes are on them so I used to back up to it gently and then push it up the road till my car would fit in the gap too! :thumb:

rikroe666 15 December 2007 09:38 PM

Shes a beaut, might trade mine in:wonder: :lol1:

Steve_PPP 15 December 2007 10:05 PM

13" alloys :lol1:

but still, i'm half tempted to get a cheap diesel commuter considering the way fuel prices have been lately!

Be as quick as your scoob though
mick

exvaux 16 December 2007 03:34 PM

its not healthy, did a few speed trials (if you can call it that) best 0-60 was 15.5 seconds, best quarter mile was 26 secs and as for 0-100,never in a million years, seems to hit a brick wall @ 75 but with no engine its still quicker than the scoob just now  at least it was cheap, gets from a to b (slowly) and ive saved a fortune on fuel since the scoobs been away :lol1:
