Just advised me to fill up before everyone starts going wild. Dont panic as yet... but i've just filled my scooby up :) |

Her Majestey's Government has threatend to use the Army against protesters, they have also threatened to use the terror laws, confiscate cars, trucks and driving licences. This is just for protesting.
No freedom of speech in this Country then? See, our freedom is being slowly eroded, do we see it, not one bit. |
hasnt this been planned for weeks :wonder:
|
Yes I heard there were going to be problems this weekend from 2 reliable sources, including an Esso tanker driver.....

Another spectacular waste of time at the wrong time of year :( |
I really do think the petrol priced have gone too far now, I saw diesel in one rural village for 1.16.9 a litre. The problem seems after ten years of new labour everyone seems to have the fight kicked out of them:( I'm on holiday to the 3rd of jan so bring it on:D
I have a mini quad which goes forever so i'm alright thae fat cops can't catch me with no petrol to run those giant 4x4's |
Who are the protesting too? Government aint going to change any taxation levels and its not them putting the price of oil up

perhaps we need to be a bit more like the frogs and the wops and demonstrate a bit more ............ would this government allow that? Be a shock for them. |
I hate to say it but we need the Fench over here they know how to do a good protest/riot:D

but oil prices have dropped 10% over the past two weeks have they not?
End of november saw a barrel just short of $100 it dropped back to $90 last week yet prices keep increasing on the forecourt. |

But when have they ever been anything other than mean grasping scrooges? Did you hear that the extra pension for those over 80 has been increased by one penny? Can you believe that? Les :( |
oh god, theyre making 17.5% on the extra 5p petrol has risen by, hardly much to shout about. Shouldnt have let it get as far as it has if we wanted to complain about it, we've already proven we are willing to pay for the petrol at that price so what good is a protest going to do, they'll sit there laughing because they know within a few days time everyone will need more petrol.

Although I agree - protesting is their strong point (unless they're invaded) |
the demonstration was being staged to highlight the problems faced by the haulage industry as a result of diesel costs The number of vehicles taking part in the protest was restricted to 30 by police forces along the route Isn't the whole idea of this to cause as much chaos as possible???? |
Wrong time of year, you won't get much support for a protest when it's freezing outside and there's only a week to go until Christmas.
Not the most thought out of campaigns! |

Alot of dosh in total for our government or wealth of the country... pennies at the very most to me and you
|
What gets me is that considering what they have to do to get the Oil out of the ground and into our cars it's quite unbelieveable that it's still cheaper than a glass of a soft drink in pub!
|
They do soft drinks in pubs? Feks sake!!!!

I can't see it'll amount to much - a single day of demonstrations limited to 30 trucks.
Hardly going to cause much long term havoc I guess the public panic buying today & tomorrow will do more damage. |
Looks like Scoobynet is going on strike too on Saturday, are the servers part of the fuel protest too :lol1:
