DNS Problems
Hello
I've been trying to get to a website (Blackcats if anyone knows it) and they have changed servers recently. Lots of other people can get to it, but it appears that either something is cached on my PC or Be* are not refreshing their DNS. Is there an open one I can try? Or something I haven't cleared on my computer? Thanks, Steve |

Thank you. Using OpenDNS worked. They next question of course it what is the problem with using it? Is it slower than my ISP's?

some guys on Overclockers said it seemed faster but measuring DNS lookup speed could be tricky:wonder:
useful to have as a fallback though, my mate was on bulldog a while ago and their DNS servers used to go down quite often, so I'd point him to Plusnet but now IIRC they only allow lookups from their own IP range which is fair enough I suppose:) |
Work around.. you could use the sites IP to get to it directly
89.163.145.59 if its the games site... |

Thank you. In the end I just have the Be* DNS as the first entry and an openDNS as the second. I may revert back when they finally refresh their cache.
And yes, it is the games site. Steve Lob the IP as a bookmark and your good :notworthy |
