help lost all drive !!!!!
hi all i have purchased a second subaru for the wife but with no drive.. it was cheap.
its a 1600 gl none turbo their is no drive no noise clutch feels normal any ideas thanks steve |
It sounds like the clutch has gone, but to check if its any other parts failed, what happens if you try and change gear while revving the engine at about 2000rpm either with the clutch pedal up or down?

nothing mate no nosie and it dont try and pull forward or anything
|
If you can change gear without dipping the clucth with the engine running, it sounds like the clutch is incredably shot or not engaing for some reason...

Knackered clutch master or slave cylinder? No clutch fluid?
|
it hasnt got hi / lo box has it and its between gears just a thought
|
It can't be knackered cylinders or no fluid as that would leave the clutch permanently engaged....:iamwithst
If it was post gearbox (transfer box) then it would have trouble engaging gear with all the shafts still spinning, hence why I think its the clutch not engaging! Simon |

Centre plate of clutch probably sheared from outer friction disc, thus not spinning the input shaft of the gearbox.
