It sounds like the clutch has gone, but to check if its any other parts failed, what happens if you try and change gear while revving the engine at about 2000rpm either with the clutch pedal up or down?

If you can change gear without dipping the clucth with the engine running, it sounds like the clutch is incredably shot or not engaing for some reason...

Knackered clutch master or slave cylinder? No clutch fluid?

bikerthou 11 December 2007 08:05 AM

it hasnt got hi / lo box has it and its between gears just a thought

It can't be knackered cylinders or no fluid as that would leave the clutch permanently engaged....:iamwithst

If it was post gearbox (transfer box) then it would have trouble engaging gear with all the shafts still spinning, hence why I think its the clutch not engaging!

Good point :o :lol1:. Oh well, only trying to help.

Centre plate of clutch probably sheared from outer friction disc, thus not spinning the input shaft of the gearbox.
