Yeah, they've got 14 days to issue a NIP, otherwise you've gotten away with it so you can sleep tonight:lol1:

mattvortex 05 December 2007 07:02 PM

Your're in the clear-they have to let you know within 2 weeks-so no worries!

yellow sti6 05 December 2007 07:08 PM

cheers,is that even if u get pulled and given the ticket to produce a cop shop ????

Bug Eyed Peas 05 December 2007 07:09 PM

One way to look at it, is you can spend the money they would have taken from you on a tank of petrol. :luxhello:

Happy Motoring :D

SteveScooby 05 December 2007 07:15 PM

Unless it;s a company car or one that you've bought recently you;ve got away with it

yellow sti6 05 December 2007 07:24 PM

No, only when you are caught remotely. Is that your Cashmere Yellow Classic thats parked in the dentist's car park?

dpb 05 December 2007 07:30 PM

Simon 69 05 December 2007 07:34 PM

Ive got a Classic Wagon, but it isnt registered.

Simon 69 05 December 2007 07:35 PM

...and the Team 69 944 too.....

Nido 05 December 2007 07:48 PM

If they pulled you over I think it's 6 months they have :(

bioforger 05 December 2007 08:29 PM

Oh dear, looks like its gone straight to a summons mate, for court appearance. How much over the limit were you?

yellow sti6 05 December 2007 08:38 PM

32 or 22 cant remember

andy97 05 December 2007 08:59 PM

The police have six months to lay information at the magistrates court for them to issue a summons. What was the speed limit, as 22 or 32 over the limit could be the difference between a ban or a big fine?

Andy

yellow sti6 05 December 2007 09:08 PM

they never said

So you were pulled over at the side of the road for speeding, and you still don't know how much over the limit you were, or even what the limit was? :wonder:

Did they not give you a copy of the ticket?

andy97 05 December 2007 09:16 PM

Well you're going to have to wait to find out. The downside is that most summons arrive near to the 6 month deadline, so a fair bit of time left, sorry.

yellow sti6 05 December 2007 09:22 PM

they never put on ticket what the speed was or limit, all they put on was exsess speed
and what the gun works it out at.
i think it was 32 if i remember right.

Nido 05 December 2007 09:28 PM

If the ticket doesn't say what the posted limit was I assume you can get off it on a technicality, you need some professional help on the situation I think yellow :)

tony95 05 December 2007 10:46 PM

30 over the limit will lead to a ban, start looking for the loopholes.
56 in a 30 for me got off with 6 points and £320 fine.
5months 15 days after the offence got the summons.
the points are on your licence from conviction date.

bioforger 06 December 2007 12:12 AM

Yep short ban if your lucky I'm afraid mate :( I got a weeks ban and £300 fine for 26 over the limit, (25 over is the maximum threshold for 3points n £60 fine) but I had other current offences to take into account *cough. However you might get lots of points and bigger fine instead, depends on the magistrates and current state of your licence. Got my summons on the day of expiry to, b4stards :)

Leslie 06 December 2007 12:31 PM

If you were pulled over by the police and warned that you will be reported with a view to prosecuting you, then they do not have to send you a NIP. So you may still get done for it.

Les
