Red arrows Petition thing.. wtf ?

Petition to: Allow the Red Arrows to Fly at the 2012 Olympics.

am I missing something or does anyone else seem something strange here

The e-petition asking the Prime Minister to "to Allow the Red Arrows to Fly at the 2012 Olympics" is ongoing. This is a response in advance of the closing date from the Government

This allegation is not true. The Government has not banned the Red Arrows from the London 2012 Olympic Games. The organising committee of London 2012 will decide what to include in the Opening Ceremony and other celebrations - but with almost five years to go, decisions are yet to be made on what these will look like.

And of course the Red Arrows played a memorable role in the celebrations for 2012, when they flew over Trafalgar Square to mark London winning the Games.

The original petition was created by and sent around by chain mail simpletons who would sooner send things on without checking than use their swedes :cuckoo:
Of course the red arrows are not banned... Next thing we'll all believe that Bill Gates will send 7cents every time you send on some sob story to your friends etc
It's actually embarrasing that the epetition was created. Its embarassing that people were daft enough to sign it and its even MORE embarrasing that a response like the above was needed...:lol1:

In principle the idea is fine, but remember, this is another expense that the tax-payer will pick up for an olympics that is already horrendously over-spent

The celebrations for when it was awarded in 200?5.

London Transport exploded the next day.

Are you saying that we should save money by sacking the Red Arrows for the day of the opening ceremony then?
