Is The Wii Region Specific?
 

As per title really.

I may have an opportunity to buy a Wii in America but I need to know if there would be any region problems. I'm assuming issues such as the plug/power pack could be resolved but I'd be stuffed if it couldn't play games bought over here.

The Wii will be built to play the games from the area which it will be used in. So a UK Wii will only play European games oh and Australian games as they are on PAL as well. The USA Wii will play their games and Japanese games as they are NTSC.

Unmodified Wii's will only play games from their own region.

Plenty about now, got one yesterday , there's a couple of jumbo loads been flown in.
