Calling all graphic/web designers...

I'm in the process of starting up a new business. Wondering what costs I should be looking to pay for design of logo, website, letter head etc.

I Want it pretty simple, 7 or 8 page website (have web address reserved). Logo etc quite simple to. Have a few examples of what I like. What money should I expet to pay for this? My current company was done years ago and i'm a bit out of touch with it all.

Any advice would be great.

It's the old piece of string question. Just how long is it?

From the logo point of view...

I do a fair bit of design work, as I'm kind of in that sort of business, and for a basic logo, with a couple of revisions, supplied on CD in numerous formats, and with the all important copyright signed over to yourselves, you'd be looking at anything from £75 upwards.

However, if you do a search for designer forums there are lots of folk eager to get a portfolio together that will do this kind of thing for peanuts. Some forums allow you to start threads asking for ideas, stating how much you'd like to pay. You'll be surprised how many responses you'll get. (Just ignore the ones from pretentious idiots saying they won't open Illustrator for under a grand :))

I went through a few UK companies designing me a logo and none of them got it right.

In the end I ended up using a company in Chile who did a cracking job for a super low price.

Check out elance.com

Post what you want doing and the companies from around the world will bid what they will charge. Speak to them first and check out their portfolio before making your choice.

PM me if you want details of the company I used.
