Philips 32" LCD Freeview 440 quid We have this one in our bedroom and it's a cracking set. Reviewers always put it in the same league with 600-800 quid sets. We feed it with a set-top aeriel and the FV pic is brilliant. Also run a combo DVD/VHS to it via scart and it is very good with those. I haven't got any consoles or HD sources, but I've read it punches above its weight with picture quality there too. Any cheaper and you'll get rubbish, and I'd only recommend Philips, Panasonic, Sony, LG, Toshiba and Sanyo anyway.

I tell a lie, the one we got is THIS ONE which has now gone up to 650 quid :lol1: I'm sure the other one is a good set, just not as good as ours

Hi fella,
Unfortunately we have moved into an era where buying a TV is as complicated as buying a house.

First get some techie advise here AVForums Home
You'll have a better understanding of the buzz words and how they can benefit you. This will also give you an insight to the make/brand/size/definition of TV you are after.

Now go to the sales man in a shop prepared with an in-depth understanding of your requirements. Don't be suprised you'll be more knowledgeable than the sales person by the time you hit the stores.

Then book a demo, but do not buy in-store. Get the model number, screen size etc...

Shop online and compare prices to save yourself a lot of £££ .

NB: Never go to the sales person unprepared, remember they are not techies, they just want to sell.

Good luck
