My mate is looking to buy a Lancer EVO. I've tried reasoning with him and even violence but he doesn't want a Scoob instead.

What kind of prices should he be expecting and what buying tips are there for these inferior model Jap super saloons ;)

You can pick the evo4 up for around 12-13k now, its not a bad car but you will have to ensure its been recalled for all the bits (AYC etc).
Strong engines so you shouldnt have much problem there unless its been run on unleaded and not super unleaded...
Brembo 4pots are standard and are normally good, along with 16inch oz alloys.
dull interior but well built (in most cases) service intervals are 4.5k for the AYC and 7.5 for other mechanical parts (oil change etc).

6 evo fours where sold through mitsubishi dealers this one being bought from Mitchels on the Wirral .With all the genuine warranty .
