did you try Opie Oils: Performance Lubricants
i bought 10L's of motul not so long ago myself from opoieoils.sometimes they will do you a bit of a deal if you drop them a line. |
i use 10w 60w oil millers cant fault it holds great pressure got it from motoglass

cheers lads tried russells there but he doesnt do it, and didnt know of any dealers for it over here, i might go for the millers for a change would 10w 60 be too thick though? i dont drive my car very hard or do track days, the general concensus on here seems to be that 10w 60 is too thick and 10w 50 would be ok?
|
burt , 10w 60 wouldnt be thick ! the way oil viscosity is measured is the first part ie 5w , 10w , or 15w is the actual viscosity ( thickness ) 5w being light and up to o20w being like tar !!!
then the second part ie 30 , 40 , 50 , or 60 is the maximum heat range , so 60 is going to offer more protection than 30. So oil graded 15w 50 is gonna be slightly heavier and offer a higher heat range than 10w 30 !! Hope this helps mate !! |
yeah think ill go for a 10w 50 silkolene Pro S to be middle of the road, i realise 10w 60 would be better for prolonged high temp runs and the likes of trackdays but i never drive flat or at high speed out for any length of time.
ive 15w 50 Mobil 1 MS in at the min and i cant help thinkin its a bit too thick for winter on start up, as it 33% thicker than 10w from cold and 66% thicker than a 5w from cold! The silkolene is 33+ vat from motoglass btw of anyone is doing a change for the winter. they have 5w 40, 10w 50 and 15w 50 in stock all around the same price. cheers lads Barry |
