wtf is one ?

stevem2k 24 November 2007 03:19 PM

yes, I have had both a R4 and M3 ...... and 'computer related' would probably be the right audience

andy1505 24 November 2007 06:03 PM

Now I'm curious what is an r4??

ScoobyDoo555 24 November 2007 06:11 PM

something that probably shouldn't really be discussed on a public forum :)

For anybody unsure of what it is - Google is your friend!

Dan ;)

Discussed the other day in 'Computer Related'

Quite a few of us have ordered them :D

J4CKO 24 November 2007 07:43 PM

Is it a Star Wars character ?

ScoobyDoo555 24 November 2007 08:19 PM

I know - I contributed!! :D

however it's uses can be associated with piracy - something that should be avoided on a BBS :)

Dan (shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted!! :D )

badgerface123 24 November 2007 08:26 PM

i got a r4 and its great :norty:

StickyMicky 24 November 2007 08:55 PM

they work extremely well

personally i prefer to have the original stuff, with box and manual, but the G/F simply does not/will not care about that, so my mate gave me the up to date current rom packs (up to around 1200 roms iirc?)

mine came with a 2gb memory card and i still cant believe how many games can fit on the thing *:cuckoo:

stevem2k 25 November 2007 10:00 AM

rom count is <> 1600 now Micky ;)

wwp8 25 November 2007 02:57 PM

i don't get it, if games are approx 32mb, and the max is a 2gb card the max games you can actually fit is 64 give or take?????

stevem2k 25 November 2007 04:38 PM

at any one time yes. ( unless you use a cycloDS evo or similar which support 4-8G SHDC microsd cards)

Put 60 carts in a bag and drag them about, see how convenient it is ?

wwp8 25 November 2007 08:39 PM

well i was hunting for reviews on both, r4 and cyclo
and decided on the cyclo,
wheres the cheapest?

(having said that i don't have a DS. but i just downloaded 30 games for it :O

PG 25 November 2007 08:58 PM

and their service is very good indeed.
I'm not up to speed on the new systems. There is a thread dedicated to them on AVForums.
