Annoyingly I have a damged 17" S02PP on the front. The rear 2 are ok. Is it safe / advisable to use S03PP's on the front and 02's on the rear?

What's the current bedding in milage and speeds for tyres nowadays?

Cheers,

P.

S-03s needed about 1200kms before I clicked to the fact that these were indeed very good - admittedly they got better after about 700kms, but I was still unimpressed - and don't get me started about them when they were new

Rather than saying y or n to mixing tyres, how about this view:
1. Seems like you are aware of the scrubbing in being required, so you may be able to get away with running different sets front-rear, but you'll have to keep that in mind for a long time.

2. Also seems like the "real world" best working tyre pressures vary quite a bit between the 2 tyres, so you'll have to keep that in mind too.

3. Depending on how much life is left in the S02s, you may be condeming yourself to split sets forever...do you want to do that?

Hope this helps :)

I have used both, and they do have different characteristics, and I would not recommend doing this. If you replace all four with S03, you will at least be able to get some money back on the spare S02's by selling them s/h.

Cheers chaps. Looks like 4 new ones comming up then. Doesn't rain but it poors. December and Jan have proved V expensive months :(

Don't really want to run slpit sets.

Dave, hoped you would reply, as I wondered if the tyres had different characteristics. Will get the remaining S02's checked at the tyre place to make sure they are ok to b sold S/H.

Thanks again,

P.
