It's going

Am now selling the GTI, spent a lot of money getting it upto scratch and must admit, I don't like it as it's too small, and it's red, not exactly my favourite colour!!

anyway

1991 J reg Mk2 Golf GTI (Big bumper version)
Totally original barring a JVC MP3 player
ABS
Heated washer jets
Power Steering
Sunroof
Clifford alarm/immobiliser
Grey "Rainbow" interior
Bluetooth car kit (Sony-Ericson)
Original Pirelli P slot alloys
Original exhaust in excellent condition
Spare set of 5 spoke alloys
New arm rest/centre console
I've just rebuilt the gear lever linkage with new bushes/push rods
New reverse switch as the old one only worked when it wanted to
Also just done a full service - timing belt, drive belts, spark plugs, HT leads, distributer cap, rotor arm, ignition coil, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, Magnatec oil, fresh coolant/antifreeze
New rear wiper motor
New N/S rear door handle
Engine has good compression - 140PSI from each cylinder from an engine that's done 131000 miles, and it runs sweetly, though it don't like 95RON fuel, so only super unleaded.
Does 40MPG easily, I used to do £50-60 a week of fuel in the Scooby, but I do the same milage and costs me £15-20 in the GTI
The bodywork is in excellent condition, and the bumpers/skirts etc are like new

£1750

Or a Mitsi Pajero, So many toys for so little outlay ;) .

And I know of a Scooby owner that uses his Pajero so much more now than his Subaru.

welcome aboard Cornelius mate :luxhello:

I'm glad you join us mate :norty: i will be honest and say that i miss the scooby to bits, but my new toy is way much better than the scooby.

Although it is juicy, and i averaged 15 miles to the galon. all the toys and extra's really make up for it.

Its so comfortable, and a beast to drive :notworthy

The Grand Cherokee LTD is by far the one to go for Paul. So much on it mate :thumb:

Cornelius 20 November 2007 05:11 PM

15 MPG? not far off the scooby!

Got a guy coming tonight to check over the Golf, so hopefully it's bye bye GTI, if it does go, I'll be giving you a call John

If it is still for sale, I might know someone who is interested. I tried to send him the piston heads link, but couldn't find your car. Could you send the link to me so I can forward it on?
