ANY ADVISE !!!!

Hi everyone just wanted a bit of advise, I love my 02 scoob to bits but the last 12 months i seem to have had nothing but trouble with it. In january my clutch went so i got it done £900 and a new flywheel something that is easily put right. Then in October my gearbox went 3rd gear i ened up paying £900 to get it reconed. I fetched it back and it did not seem right so the garage reconed my gearbox and fitted that back in. Then advised to get another new clutch fitted as it had worn unevenly so thats another £210 on top of that. Then to top it all the garage told me £35 to mot my car and give the bloke a drink as it is decated and i landed a bill of £82. I feel like getting rid of the car as i feel i am being ripped off what should i get ????????????

Its part of the fun driving a performance saloon I`m afraid.

Pros & cons. But the pros outweigh the cons :norty:

If you do sell, you may live to regret it. But its your decision not anyone elses.

So you have spent £2,000 this year.

That's only £40 a week and there's lots of people who'd p*ss tht against the wall in one evening in the pub.

I had a 330 Beemer that seemed to cost me £400 every other month so I got shot. Bumped into the new owner who drives it as hard as I sued to by all accounts - said the car was top notch, hadn't spent a penny on it and thanked me for keeping it in good nick!!! GRRRR! Of couse I now wish I'd never sold it!

How fcucking much?? :eek2:

CRAIG170674 19 November 2007 07:36 AM

its not just what i have spent really. I have been told by a previous scooby owner that the gear box will continue to be weak now and it will go in all the gears. As i only got 2 months guarentee i dont feel like getting it done again in 6 months.

I have still got the original catted exhaust and was gonna put it on but this bloke said £35 and a drink so it was alot easier I will know not to do it again.

not been funny but what do you expect from a 6/7 year old modified car driven hard-2 month guarantee is not good though

Go to a different garage? :wonder:
You shouldn't have paid more than £600 for a clutch change and I wouldn't call £50, ' a drink '! :D

There are only 2 garages near me that i know will deal with scoobys unless you go to the main dealer. Although i am begining to wonder if main dealer prices would be that much more expensive

Chin up fella, i bought mine, and 2 weeks past the 3 month warrenty my engine let go, cost 1600 quid.

In the 18 months i had it i had loads of niggly problems including a gearbox rebuild, new brakes and discs and a couple of lambda sensors.

i paid 7k for it and with a few mods and maintanance it stood me at 13k and i ended up selling it for just over 4k - gutted was not the word.

stick with it mate, it will put a grin on your face every time you go out.

There is not a single day that i dont miss mine.

People ask me do i regret buying a car that cost me so much - i answer
not in the slightest, needless to say they think i should be sectioned:cuckoo: :D

Labour costs for Subaru's is ridiculous.. It sickens me beyond belief! They are such easy cars to work on but mechanics take the piss!
