Fuel cut on boost, why? Please help me.

Hi all, just recently my car has had a few problems. Firstly it started to idle really low, often when i dip the clutch when stopping sharply. Then its started to cut the boost when im giving it some beans, gets to about 5k revs then the boost cuts and jolts the car. It does this in all gears too.
At first i thoguht it was the blitz dv i have, but iput the old one on today and its still the same. I had a split hose too but thats ok now too. What could it be?? The clutch needs changing but i doubt its that. Possibly the MAF or am i barking up the wrong tree?
For reference its a 96 uk turbo with blitz nur soec r decat exhaust with decat downpipe. Also has a k and n filter. Might the fuel reg need upgrading or the fuel pump, maybe even the ecu?? Please help a confused man

any split vac pipes on turbo? or boost valve?

Since you've removed all the cats, the turbo is gonna be spooling up faster and therefore increasing boost. The standard ecu has a set limit for when to cut the fuel to help prevent damage to the engine.
You have 2 opitons really.

1. (The cheaper option) Fit a fuel cut defender.
2. (The expensive option) Fit a new ecu and get it mapped. This would be the better option in the long run to be honest.

Hope this helps

I have also heard that the Blitz BOV can cause cars to stutter and stall

first is do a ecu check by pluging the black plugs together under dash see if every thing is ok then go from there

Cheers everyone. There was a split in the pipe just after the maf, this got changed and has helped slightly. The Blitz bov was changed back to a standard recirc. type but its the same so it cant be that. Id say that what Marx Mcrae said seems spot on. But what does a fuel cut defender look like, whereabouts is it, and does it need an aftermarket item in replacement. I have a power boost valve/fuel pressure reg im yet to put on, would it help or not?

In the long run id like to upgrade the ecu, but as its uk and i have to get a chip or apexi ecu, its more pricey than just remapping straight off :(

Thanks for the replies, please keep em coming :thumb:
