Put me down as a definite please Tony. Preferably afternoon session please.

Maybe worth posting this in the general forum too..?

I've managed to get onto the Fastsaloons outing this Saturday. Rockingham is just up the road from me and I was looking for a Birthday treat :)
I'll also chip in with a bit of feedback afterwards.

Can I be added as a possible? Need to discuss this with the boss ;)

Also, as a non-Scooby, will I be allowed to bring the GTR?

It was a superb day. A touch cold waitning for your go, but superb. Again, as in the Prodrive day I learnt a lot about my car and had a chance to play with the diff settings. I like auto now..lol!!!

Pics and more of a write up to follow, but there seems to be ample accomodation in the area:

Rockingham UK - Where to stay, Hotels, Bed and Breakfast. Camping, Corby, Northamptonshire

GROWLER_GRRRR 18 November 2007 07:19 PM

cheers

thanks for adding me to the list :thumb:

jasonius 18 November 2007 09:49 PM

What sort of 'track' time did you get..?

Sounds very good BTW..;)

Butty 18 November 2007 10:07 PM

Put me down for Feb as well!
A really worthwhile 1/2 day in which to find out what its like to lose total control in spins and no traction surfaces, then to learn or attempt to learn some ways of getting out of trouble.
It was very useful to try out the DCCD settings to see how much they help in saving a hairy moment.
Staff were excellent, particularly when they rode alongside and gave commentary on what to expect and how to survive.
The wet track is away from the main facilities and could do with a portacabin to give shelter, a loo and a cuppa.
I bet Feb will be colder, so wrap up very warm and bring a flask & snacks.

Saw Nige for some of his runs on the basalt - I hope the moving plate was amusing.

I took quite a few piccies but they are just junk. I seem to have a load of water jets and spray in focus :Whatever_

Here's me going a bit sideways on the plate

Tony

rcwhite 19 November 2007 12:33 AM

can i be put back on list please:norty:

Butty 19 November 2007 11:47 AM

I forgot to add that Saturday saw 12 cars in each session which allowed 5 attempts per car at each discipline. This may be the maximum number to allow a quick turn around within a group and allow enough practice.

nick

NotoriousREV 19 November 2007 01:35 PM

Can I be added as a definite for the AM session?

I already have my excuses ready: "HICAS gets confused by the kick plate" etc.

Cheers.

Butty 19 November 2007 02:30 PM

Tony - I'll do an AM slot.
Talking of techy bits getting confused, a couple of times on the drifting section, I had the ABS light flash and the DCCD thumb wheel lock up. I cured them by switching the IGN off and on. I presume the ECU brains couldn't cope with the wheel sensor readings and yaw changing so quickly?

i have to speak tothe woman in charge yet ;) as they were having a debreif after this first run event :D

She did say might be able to "MIX" up the groups So group A has 4 Cars but pays £100 and group B has 5 Cars pays £80 ;) which I have done above have a look and will alter to suit

From what's been said, if

4 cars in a group you'll get approx 5 go's at each disapline
5 cars in a group you'll get approx 4 go's at each disapline

Tony

jasonius 20 November 2007 02:41 PM

You can put me down for definite..;)

4 cars @ £100 each is would be good for me..! The group I'm pencilled in already has 4 so if it's ok with the others could we seal it at that IYSWIM..?:D

rcwhite 20 November 2007 10:45 PM

yup good for me more runs the better:D

Butty 22 November 2007 03:36 PM
