A-Plan DONT DO imports !

well that's what they've just told me anyway.

Perhaps we can amend their advert in the sticky to reflect this please.

Rich.

That's funny because they insure mine BUT you have to phone them up not go into a branch on the street.

UK Motor Insurance Quotes.

Japanese Grey Import Insurance

Steve169 13 November 2007 09:11 AM

Covered my import too, along with quite a few others I imagine !

Graz 13 November 2007 09:24 AM

You have to ring the Thatcham branch. Only they deal with imports and modified. The one's on the high street are no good.

J300STN 13 November 2007 09:37 AM

ive got a 92 import with a lot of mods and they covered me with a very cheap quote:)
we give our name and number in online, then they called us back the same day and went through details:thumb:

I just filled out their request for on the internet & they phoned me back. Are they too incompetent to pass these requests through to the right department, is that what we're saying here...?
:freak3:

I'm with Admiral currently and perfectly happy. They told me last night they can only do imports if there is an identical UK equivalent vehicle. Obviously for the Forester STI there isn't.

killerscoob 13 November 2007 09:50 AM

A Plan Quoted me 890 and thats as standard no mods included, At the Moment I'am with admiral paying 670 on a 10 month accelerator, I dont know what it will be for a 12 month. A plan Are not the cheapest out there so look around first.

rossyboy 13 November 2007 11:14 AM

They may not be cheapest for you, but may be for others. The quote depends on a whole load of factors.

Goes without saying to look around though.

ozzreid1964 13 November 2007 01:33 PM

just got qote for next yearwith mods and no claims covered :thumb:

T5OLF 13 November 2007 01:39 PM

No probs with A plan, I have my RA with them and it costs approx 480 quid with all mods and 3 points. And I have my VW golf and Polo covered with them as well. Ringing the correct number always helps.

toofast toostupid 13 November 2007 01:40 PM

I have insured a EVO, Skyline and scooby, all imports, all moded with no issues ? The Thatcham branch if it helps ?

goonerbear 13 November 2007 03:52 PM

A-Plan insure my 95 WRX Import with mods and no claims protected

NorthDownsScooby 13 November 2007 04:23 PM

Amazin' - it's like a different world when you get hold of the right department. Got a good quote too.

They might even get my business if they're not careful. :thumb:

STi5_TypeR_VLtd 13 November 2007 04:29 PM

My Type R and the wifes STi Wagon are covered with A-Plan. Always been competitive at renewal. The basingstoke branch dealt with thatcham when sorting out the original cover on the Type R as I also insure my mx-5 with them. I doubt many places could have sorted that out as efficiently.

ELYA49 13 November 2007 04:57 PM
