Uninsured car parked on road

Hello,

My engine blew up so i bought another car to tide me over while i sort the original one. This meant having to transfer the insurance to my new car. The old one is parked on the road, however it is taxed.

Is this legally ok? It can't go anywhere as it has no engine !

I'm sure that is illegal to park an uninsured car on the road.
If another car runs into it, you could be prosecuted.
To confirm this you could ring your local station.

If its on a road,it has to be insured-whatever the status of your car.As previously said,if somebody crashes into it or injury is caused to anybody because of its condition, you may be liable,(in certain circumstances only)...
As the road traffic act states"owing to the presence of a vehicle on a road..."

Also if its un-insured you obviously won't get any pay out if anything happened to the car whilst being out on the road, i.e- vandalism, or even having the car nicked, (towed away or even lifted onto a car transporter flatbed which seems to be a bit of a rage at the moment)

It's only a fiesta so wouldnt be end of the world lol.

Insured it as an additional car on my policy third party only. Cost me £28 till end of the year !

Oh right! I thought it was a scooby which blew the engine and was sitting on the road!
