MAF & BOOST SOLENOID CLEANING HOW ?

Hi

I just spent an hour reading threads about boost problems and MAF sensor problems and someone always suggests TRY cleaning them ... but no one tells you how ... maybe is obvious ?

Is it simply a case of spraying brake caliper / dust cleaner down or should I use WD40 down the pipes of the boost solenoid and into the solenoid its self and same for the MAF do I just spay the sensor inside the air pipe ?

Also is it possible to check if the actuator is working properly or again can it be serviced lubricated cleaned out ...

I'm also replacing all the Vacuum hoses today with blue ones and was going to also replace the ones from the Solenoid but red that the bottom pipe has a restricted in it ...I presume i can remove that from the old one and insert into the new pipe ... but it crossed my mind what happens if you remove it completely ?

Its a 1993 WRX JDM

Cheers
Paul

don't clean the maf with oil you will stuff it up big time, if it's faulty then replace it cleaning won't really work, the boost sloenoid though use wd40 or brake cleaner
