The statistics for crime don't agree with you. If you are black you are far more likely to be randomly stopped or pulled and you are more likely to be charged and convicted. The level of crimes commited is pretty evenly spread - it is simply that institutional racism perpetuated by people like yourself lead to white people getting away with it and black people getting the blame.

Why try and educate someone like this? His attitude isn't based on anything even remotely related to intelligent thought and you won't be able to use intelligent thought to sway him, either.

My 8 year old girl was on a tube with granny recently, and was told it was not a good idea to display her mobile phone on the tube.

She replied "yes, there are a lot of black people about aren't there".

I work in Education, and whilst I don't necessarily get the race stuff at my current college (due to the county being predominantly white), my last college was very multi-ethnic backgrounded.

Now I work in Music technology and Sound - one of the few industries where on the whole colour, creed and sex don't matter. You're judged on your ability.

My last college, I was accused of being a racist by a black student, when I challenged him about not getting on with his work and a poor attitude to his fellow students.
I actually laughed out aloud, as prior to lecturing, I was UB40's producer. In terms of this particular student, I probably knew more black people that I could call friends, than he did!! :D Also, by the very nature of the job, I was introduced to the Black and Asian community wholeheartedly.

In other words, one of the last people that can be called a racist, is me!

Anyhow, I ended up losing my rag with this kid, and said that any comments made about him being a lazy kid with a bad attitude, had nothing to do with him being black. They were just the truth.

In my eyes, if you're an a$$hole, the colour of your skin isn't going to make any difference :D

The thing that makes the whole situation worse in this country is when you see ethnic 'minorities' getting away with racist comments because they can't ever be pulled up on it yet if a white person was to make the same remark in the other direction they would be arrested for it.

A prime example was on traffic cops last week when an asian calls out to the police officers and camera crew "you white pussies" sticking his middle finger up. Now why he wasn't arrested for racist abuse I don't know because if I had been there and called him paki scum in front of the same police officers i'd have been arrested for racial abuse.

Its time this country stopped with the pc boll0cks and treated everyone equal so when someone is racist no matter what their colour they are nicked for it, not just arrest white people for being racist.

Most of the killings in London have had something to do with gang culture AND kept within gang culture ,unless there has been mistaken identity, as far as i can see.It stands to reason also that your likely as not to stick around with those youve grown up with and that the poorer you are the more desperate you are.

Id say its the manner of way the comment was made that is as impotant as the words themselves. Youd have to remember also that this was television - he knew he was being filmed and acted up accordingly.

The black people I know have always been decent, law abiding people.

Though it does seem from what I read that there is definitely a proportion of the black community that seems intent of violent self destruction, does that make me racist, listening to the news and forming an impression ?

I worked for the Police and different races do seem to have different types of crime they focus on, Black criminals (notice not Black people in general) tend to indulge in gun, drug and robbery crime. Asian criminals (notice not Asian people) gravitate towards financial gain type crime such as card fraud, insurance fraud and tax evasion.

White criminals tend to be into car theft, drunken punch ups and wife beating.

I am not going to say all the evils of society are due to white people, I am not going to say Black people never commit crime just so I can sound right on and not labeled a racist, if nobody mentions anything these issues don't get tackled but conversely just being racist for the sheer sake of it is more destructive.

This is why the Police have such a difficult job, they tie themselves in knots trying to not appear racist for many reasons, to avoid the race card being played all the time, because of trying to distance themselves from their past and then they have to present statistics which are generally a problem as it either shows certain sections of society as indulging in more criminal activity or makes the Police look like they are targeting these sections of society.

It saddens me that the true meaning of Racism has been lost in this modern age.. a bit like christmas only more damaging! I recently asked a new work collegue of their "Ethinic Origin" as I was genuinely interested. Someone over-heard our conversation and even though said collegue was happy to talk about his familly and was completely un-aware of any kind of "racial" motivation I could have possibly had (which obviously I didnt) decided she thought what I said was Innappropriate.. Needless to say I told her what I though of her views. What does interest me how ever is I can ask a Ginger person if they are from scotland or a girl with pale skin, dark hair and blue eyes if she is irish, or even someone with blonde hair and blue eyes if they are from sweeden without anyone batting an eyelid???

Sarah Kennedy said this week on her radio 2 show that she only spotted a black man walking when he opened his mouth and yawned. He also had dark clothes on.

Apparently this was seen by some as a racist comment.

I am not afraid of being called racist, largely because I am not in any way. As far as I am concerned people are people the world over as I have discovered in my travels. I dont take notice of a person's colour, creed or ethnic background. What is really important is what a person's character is like. It is not racist to criticise a particular person if he demonstrates he is a bad person regardless of his background.

To make inferences about a black person's criminal tendencies just because he is black is as shameful as it would be for any other person. Just like that report which that prat published saying that he thought that black people are less intelligent. I thought that was the bitter end as a disgraceful insult.

Les, my point was that all races have criminals, yet there seems to be a difference in the type of offense, I worked for the Police for 10 years and spoke to many officers, when you go into an policing unit and see a wall of mugshots that relate to street robbery and most are from one section of society it does bring it home.

i will give u an islamic perspective of things, as most of u know, in islam, their is no such thing as race superiority or races, we r muslims and brothers and sisters and thats that, all my life i have met many a people and many fellow muslim brothers and sisters of all colours and backgrounds, white, black, yellow, brown etc etc etc and the best muslims i ever met r the black coloured brothers and white and yellow muslim brothers and i met many a brothers who r black and black sisters, mair superior than any nation i ever seen, so it makes me sad when i read all this garbage aboot blacks, some of it may be true but same goes for whites, browns and yellow

in the uk for a black person its hard finding a job and thrown intae ghettos and not earning much coz of lack of jobs coz of their colour some turn tae gang culture and crime, we have the same for all races and people, as all whites arent paedofiles , neither r all blacks criminals
