Fuel swirl pot

I've got a '94 WRX ra that I only use for track days.

Currently I get fuel surge from just under 1/2 a tank, so I plan to fit a swirl pot and external Bosch 044 fuel pump, with the standard tank pump feeding the pot.

I've done some searches but can't find a diagram or instruction on how to plumb the pot from the tank.
There's 3 pipes from the top of the tank at the fuel pump, what goes to where on the pot.

The pot has 4 outlets / inlets.
Outlet at the bottom feeding the Bosch pump. That's ok.
2 x Middle inlet to fill the pot from the tank, from where ?
And top outlet being the overflow, from where?

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Dave

thinking logically (lol)
you will have one feed and one return, std pump and return back to tank

then one feed to uprated pump and its return from injector rail to tank

I pretty much had the right idea, but which one on the tank is the feed to the pot then?
And the overflow from the pot, is that T-pieced into the existing, and again which pipe is that?

I've just done the swirl pot on Mine, Will try and post pics later,

The pipe with the plastic push lock fitting is the feed, so you take this to one of pipes near the top of the swirl pot (not the very top one). The return pipe is the thicker of the remaining 2 pipes left attached to the top of the fuel pump craddle, you then connect this return pipe to the pipe next to the feed pipe on the swirl pot. The very top pipe from the swirl pot then connects to where you have removed the fuel return pipe.

That will leave you with one free pipe at the bottom of the swirl pot, which obviously feeds the external pump.

You will need to wire in a new power source for your external pump on a 4 way relay.

The thick Black & red wire on the plug is the positive that feeds the existing fuel pump, you tap of this to trigger the relay then earth the relay.

A bit confusing but hope this helps for the minute.

Sorry just read your post again My swirl pot has 4 Pipes not 3.

1. Outlet to external pump.
2. Inlet from Tank
3. Inlet from Fuel return
4. Outlet back to Tank.

But as said you should be able to T piece the overflow from the Swirl pot & fuel return hose back to the tank.

My mistake, there are 4 pipes. I should have looked in the box first.

Overflow at the very top.
2 pipes near the top.
Bottom pipe that goes to the external fuel pump.

SSCJAY, your reply has been very helpful, thanks for that.
If you could post some photos that would be a great help.

Here is a picture of mine 75% finished, I tryed labelling the pipes but hasn't come out too clear.

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l1...y/swirlpot.jpg

A. feed from tank to Swirl pot
B. Overflow pipe from Swirl pot back to tank (not connected yet in the pic)
c. Original return pipe from engine bay back to the tank (now to swirl pot)
D. Positive wire for the in tank Pump

Hope this Helps
