Type R 13 January 2002 03:34 PM

I will pop down just spectating thou.

jon hill 14 January 2002 09:10 AM

matt - why "just spectating" ? have you used up this years track day allowance already ?? :D

Type R 14 January 2002 07:40 PM

Jon, pretty much :(

Only jokin, ive just spent about a Grand on Camcorder and bits, paid the dreaded Car Insurance, Car Tax, and Servicing all in the last 30 days.

I will bring my Camcorder and bits, so i can wire it upto your car for a bit of footage. Its really nifty you can put it anyware on the car, just with a bit of spounge and blacktape.

nice to see your rejoining us Trackies :D

dingy 17 January 2002 01:53 PM

I shall be there, with my tools and BOX of NF for those that need some ;)

:D

jon hill 18 January 2002 12:24 PM

matt - a friend of mine should also be along to give his new civic its first outing. Its not a "type-r", but a RoadSaloons racer.

should be very entertaining...

Type R 24 January 2002 12:30 PM

Im in, just got to tell the missus.

Three months without any track action, has made me thirsty.

jon hill 24 January 2002 12:36 PM

cool :)

picked up the 205 on monday, but it needs running in. So i'll be taking it well easy in the morning sessions to get some miles on the clock (thats my excuse for being crap... :) )

havent been on a track since september either.... :0

Type R 24 January 2002 01:08 PM

I know when i spun off last year, i only went back to donnington 8 months later in November at the SIDC day, I was so careful, I will never do Craner flat again, i may lose a couple of seconds, but rather that than the gravel.

It is quite unnerving at first but after a few laps you tend to concentrate more on your lines rather than spinning off.

I guess it is in sessions right, which session are you in, i forgot to ask ?

The Bullet camera is superb, i have tried wing mirror cam and front grill cam, both of which give excellent pictures.
Hopefully someone is sorting me out a decent mounting bracket, so i can securely fasten it to the rear arch etc.

DavidBrown 24 January 2002 02:03 PM

I know when i spun off last year
That's what you get for being my passenger then thinking you can do the same in your car ;) (just joking)

I shall be there !

Not sure in what car.. but I'll be there..

Not sure in what car.. but I'll be there..
Come in the Skyline and give me a ride  :p :)

I think i might come watch and save my 1st outing till Bedford SIDC this year

Andy Gough 24 January 2002 11:13 PM

How do I book? My Audi tt is going to kick ass! (no it's not) After my WRX its a slowmobile, but its better than watching - marginally.

Mellow Yellow ! 25 January 2002 08:54 AM

Andy,
Go to www.donningtoncircuit.co.uk
Then going through the site click on the Trackzone link and mail Jane direct or phone her, the event is'nt yet listed, alternatively lots of peeps are just turning up on the day and paying then :)

simonburton 25 January 2002 09:01 AM

Anyone know what time the drivers briefing will be? May be able to attend but will not know until the night before!

simon

Type R 25 January 2002 09:57 AM

Sam Elassar 28 January 2002 01:48 PM

hi guys
i am thinking about doing this donnington on the 10 of feb. will be driving with a friend of mine all the way from Dundee on saturday. is there any hotels near by that you recommend?

we would rather stay in nottingham for the saturday night so we can maybe socialise with the locals :).

any one leaving from nottingham on sunday morning is kind enough to show us the way to the track :)

sam
ps i have only done donnington once before in my scoob and i thought it was brilliant.

Type R 28 January 2002 05:01 PM

Sam i have a few contacts within Thistle (Next to Donnington) and Moat House (Centre of Nottingham), give me a couple of days, and i will try to sought something out for you.

Sam Elassar 28 January 2002 06:00 PM

hi type R
the moat house will be ideal as i have stayed there before when i did donnington last.

this will also be great just in case the track gets cancelled and we only end up enjoying the social aspect :D

sam

logiclee 28 January 2002 09:30 PM

Sam,

Glad yor coming down again, I still remember our "off roading" around Donnington last year. ;) :)

Should be able to make the trackday but not sure about the night out yet. I'm sure salsa-king and co will be down Notts on Saturday night though.

Lee

Sam Elassar 28 January 2002 10:08 PM

lee
i still remember that bit of rallying myself mate :) i will be giving salsa a ring soon.

so are you taking your car on the track this time? your valuable co driving was much appreciated last time :D

sam
ps my evo is even more twitchy than my subaru, so side way and rallying will definitely be on the menu until i get to know the track.

ChrisB 28 January 2002 10:50 PM

I'll try to pop down for a while in the morning. I'm out in the afternoon but give me chance to waste some film in my new camera.

Crappy blured pic of your car anyone?

MRK 29 January 2002 09:38 AM

Weird you go to www.trackzone.co.uk and get Bookatrack.com. They have a day on the 18th Feb @ Dono.

Anyway I'm booked up for the 10th. The format of the day is 2 x 30min sessions per hour, incase anybody was interested. So far 55cars have booked

It should be good as it will the first time I get my new racecer out on track, so no laughing Matt.

M
