slight gear selection problem
 

I've posted this in another section on the forum but no answer yet, hoping somebody can help/advise.
Slight problem with a 04 STI....
It will go up through the gears perfectly to 6th, but coming back down the gears from 5th into 4th is just a no go area,I dont want to force it into 4th. If I put it into 3rd and then to 4th it is fine.
There are no crunches between any of the gear changes
I am hoping that the problem lies in the linkage and nothing more serious.
Any body have a similar problem or help in any way ?
I have it in the autotrader this week so was hoping for a fix pretty quick.

did ya check the linkage under the gator, there is nylon inserts bolted by a 13 mm bolt, I ve got the manual on CD rom Ill check out for ya now

alright Geoff, havin a look at this manual there are a couple of places that if loose or moved could maybe cause ur prob, I have this printed for you, maybe give ya an idea where to look, its got split down drawings, step by step in real detail.... Im off today and tomorrow so if you wanna meet up then i can give you the print out. Ya got me number

dont mean to sound practical but you could always email the docs :thumb: saving time

well I could but they are on a pdf formatted disc and I dont know how to get them off it, guess that what I get for being a pc illiterate :razz:
