If you didnt have a subaru!

What car would you go for? One thats doesnt cost 300 quid car tax? Turbo??:wonder:

Im not sure what i'd have-small and nippy maybe?
Clio 192?
Golf gti?

Lets see what most of you would go for?

Borat_Drives_A_Scooby 29 October 2007 12:05 AM

collierm 29 October 2007 12:14 AM

An Audi S4, nearly bought one a few months ago but just about couldn't justify the extra cost.

bob r 29 October 2007 12:20 AM

...........it's a Clio 197 ;)

I would have to go for something quick.

Perhaps a BMW M3, Evo 6 TM, Focus RS, series 1 S4.

stevebt 29 October 2007 12:23 AM

I would buy a Porsche cayenne :) or maybe a maserati 4200gt

corradoboy 29 October 2007 12:26 AM

I no longer have a Subaru, so my answer is a Skoda Fabia vRS.

£110 tax, Sub £300 insurance, possible 65mpg, 312 lb/ft, 30-70 in 5s and ugly, boring and characterless.

Given free choice, Audi R8, Lambo Gallardo, F430, Cayman, V8 Vantage, RS6 (new V10), M5 etc.
Realistically, EvoX, M-Coupe, 350Z, older RS4.

miff13 29 October 2007 12:41 AM

I'm with corradoboy, skoda vrs (0ctavia) for me

http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...3/untitled.jpg

I was slightly less sensible and went for the petrol version, still running her in but doesn't feel any slower than my old uk turbo.

v8voodoo 29 October 2007 12:58 AM

Realistically, 535d M-Sport or S3, possibly a Monaro VXR or a VXR8.

corradoboy 29 October 2007 01:03 AM

Miff, we'll be getting a diesel vRS Octy next year, probably :D

Daihatsu YRV Turbo! 1.3 130BHP 0-6- 8.1 secs. Group 8 insurance, and £140 a year road tax with 30-40MPG. Currently have one in yellow (I know :nono: ). But what a fun car :luxhello: . Even has a Steer shift function to make you go quicker :thumb: . Currently using one as an everyday run-a-bout.:norty:

bushiwarrior 29 October 2007 01:37 AM

love those old school hatches.

but saying that i only carried on with my driving lessonas as i bought my first scoob before i passed my test and wanted to drive it.

Scoobyspanners 29 October 2007 07:25 AM

If I could find a reliable one I would have a late Lancia Delta Intergale Evolution.

typerchris 29 October 2007 08:39 AM

I was recently going to swap the type r for a r33 gtr skyline. Not sure what made me keep the Scooby but i will prob change to the gtr in a yearish.

Mangel 29 October 2007 10:02 AM

porsche 996 or Lotus esprit s4 (already got one of those) and a range rover

evil.soup 29 October 2007 10:08 AM

Noble M12 will hopefully be the next move, but money no object would be a Zonda:)

martyrobertsdj 29 October 2007 10:29 AM

I almost bought an E46 M3 before the Scoob, so I guess I'd have one of them.

The new Civic Type R was also in the running for a while, but I realises that I :D didn't want a car I'd have to thrash the arse off everywhere.

Money no object, a Gallardo Superleggera, or a Porsche 911 GT2....thank you very kindly.....all donations very much appreciated. :thumb:

blu scoob 29 October 2007 10:38 AM

bora 130 highline chiped to 165 on saturday and ae320 cdi avantgaurd estate for the dog:norty:

pippyrips 29 October 2007 10:40 AM

I thought sod the tax and went for an RS4:D

Jap Import 29 October 2007 11:08 AM

Monaro VXR for me I think

wrx287 29 October 2007 11:13 AM

Mk1 Escort with Cossie engine:norty: :norty:

scoobynutta555 29 October 2007 11:44 AM

I have an Impreza turbo that cost £180 a year tax :D. I won't suffer any noticable depreciation compared to a £300 tax Impreza and it'll go faster than 99% of production models ;)

G.Mac 29 October 2007 12:49 PM

BMW 635csi Highline in royal blue from 1988 - 1989

If I sell the Scoob thats what im going to go for

Graeme

GazTheHat 29 October 2007 01:30 PM

Simple! The darkside. EVO.

...or a skyline.

Maybe another growler. (lancia 'Grale)

REDZIPPY 29 October 2007 02:13 PM

A METRO 6R4 (yeah right !) - back to reality - probably a CIVIC Type R (old shape, not the stoopid lookin new one!)

NACRO 29 October 2007 02:27 PM

A 996 Turbo, cheap tax and better than almost every other car on the road.

Gangle 29 October 2007 03:31 PM

If I couldnt have my scooby I'd have a donkey and a cattle prod!

Escort Cossie perhaps, still look mean and can get silly power out of them, plus there quite rare and have shrugged off that chav image.. I hope?
hey, if not I'd just buy a burberry cap!

Herbie. 29 October 2007 05:33 PM

Id probably go to the Darkside too and by an Evo. A Monaro was also in the running.

stringostar 29 October 2007 05:47 PM

for me.... i quite like the megane 225 sport. i also like my old school hatches, so an rs-turb wud be on the cards...

money no object... dodge viper or an aston db9.

Marx Mcrae 29 October 2007 06:34 PM

For me it would be another FD RX7. There bloody quick, handle loads better than a scooby, cheeper to tax since you can class it as a 1.3 (£110 for the year), and I still dont think there is a better looking car on the road.
