Buckled Wheel!?
 

Last night i managed to get cut up when overtaking a guy on a dual carriage way when the driver i was passing decided he wanted to join me in my lane, his obviously wasn't good enough!?

Unfortunately for me it meant i had to avoid him by braking and swerving but in doing so i managed to clip the curb on the central res which made quite a clonk.

After some pants emptying and a few explicite words i stopped to examine. Front offside wheel is ****ed and has a balance weight missing and the rear offside wheel has a nice big slice in it.

After pulling away i did a check whilst driving with head out of window to see if it was buckled (this was made very hard by the mud flaps i've had fitted)(oh and it was done in my own street at about 11:30, so wasn't flying around head protruding from car on the main roads)

It appeared the wheel was buckled.

Driving to work this morning though. . .it seemed fine. No wobbles through the wheel, no noise. .nothing!!??

Is this to be expected? or should i look into it much deeper?
And i'm guessign it'll fail the MOT like that?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated *edit* and i'm sorry if this doesn't quite fit in to general technical. May need moving to wheels etc

If it was me I would have a really close look at the tyre's make sure they are not damaged, you don't want a blow out. I would also get the geometry checked, a knock big enough to damage your wheels could at the very least muck up your tracking. Take it easy until you have done this:thumb:

I've had a damaged wheel before and it was wobbling all over the place. If you have hit the curb or whatever it will have put the tracking out.

Take it to a wheel specialist and get it balanced and tracked is the best thing to do. They will know if it needs a new wheel or not.
